HERMITAGE OF THE VIRGIN OF MARCUELLO

It is located to the south of the castle, very next to it. It comprised of his set. The oldest nucleus of the construction is Romanesque. To this hermitage dependencies for hermit and members of the brotherhood were added in century XVII.

The greatest chapel is covered by exedra, five sections of the nave are covered with "lunetos" and the rest is covered with edge. There is an entrance of arch of average point with short voussoirs without adornment. The inner door is old and is nailed. There is another entrance that it gives to the lobby of the house of the heremit.

The hermitage in its interior has a stone bank that crosses it in all its contour. In the head and comprising of the house of the heremit is the tower. It has two superposed cameras. By the inferior one it is acceded to crypt and the superior one has a barrel vault and has a loophole. On the tower it is the bell tower.

Crypt consists of two separated sections by an arch of average point. The entrance section is covered with a barrel vault and the following one that corresponds to the apse is covered with exedra.
