Salinas de Jaca is a town of recent construction that formed when their inhabitants left the "Salt mines Old" to be transferred next to the highway.

It belongs to the municipality of Peñas-Riglos. The old establishment is documented in century XII and at the moment it is in ruins. Its parish was dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene.
