Lierta is a population which is located in the skirts of Gratal, in the limits of the municipal term of The Sotonera, municipality to which belongs.

It is mentioned documentarily from 1,098 and its buildings are the typical ones of this zone. Its parochial temple is dedicated to Our Lady of the Pillar and it is a work of century XVIII. It was altered in the Forties.

In its municipal term we can find the hermitage of Our Lady of the Remedy which belongs to the century XVIII (it is actually in ruins), vestiges of the hermitage dedicated to the Virgin of Talladueso on the foot of the Mountain range of Gratal, the hermitage of Saint Julian located under a cave. Magical powers are attributed to this hermitage from remote times.
